We are happy to announce that the winner of the big 1,000 followers contest is SueAnn! SueAnn sent us a very touching story about her brother and the Phoenix Coyotes. Thank you SueAnn and congratulations!
As the big winner, SueAnn's prizes are (1) sweatshirt or hoodie with an existing design from the P&P apparel shop, (5) P&P posters of existing designs and a Patrick Sharp bobblehead! Sueann, we will be emailing you shortly so that you may claim your prizes!
In the meantime, thank you so much to everyone who submitted and voted! This contest was a lot of fun for everyone and we're hoping to do another one like it in the near future. And, if you haven't read SueAnn's story, you really should!
My favorite hockey moment is also part of the worst time of my life. My brother was killed in November 2002 by a red light runner at the age of 17, I was 16. My brother is one of the major reasons I was ever a hockey fan to begin with. He really got me into NHL hockey when we got the Coyotes. The Phoenix Coyotes heard about what happened to him and took time after a horrible loss to listen to his story of being a miracle baby, his life & his death. The whole team then signed a jersey that was buried with him. It showed me how big hockey player's hearts can be and cemented my loyalty to my team. Now, every time I watch the Coyotes I feel close to my brother. The Coyotes will always have my entire family's gratitude for their kindness.

Happy Birthday Pucks & Pixels
One year. Wow.
It’s really been one year since I officially launched Pucks & Pixels. This past year moved both slowly and quickly, but in either case, I’m just amazed. It’s been a fantastic year for P&P, and the rate that it has grown in just 365 days just astounds me. I cannot thank everyone in the hockey community enough for the support and enthusiasm that P&P has been shown.
Here’s to a great year and to many more after this one!

Logo Challenge
In an effort to better sharpen our logo illustration skills, we will be undertaking an extensive logo challenge here at Pucks & Pixels. The challenge will be to create an entire women’s hockey league, with a team for every current NHL city (so nobody go and get relocated any time soon) and a logo/jersey design to match. This will of course take some time, probably the rest of this season and most of the next, as designing logos is time-consuming when your drawing skills are so-so.
